Skylighting does not work with upscaler plugin

Skylighting does not work when the Skyrim Upscaler plugin is enabled, using DLSS in my case, Skyrim Special Edition version 1.5.97.

There used to be workaround:

But it seems to not work anymore in latest version, I can't replicate it.

Skylighting with upscaling seems actually to do something, but not what it should actually do. It does some subtle thing with shading that lightly darkens some surfaces at Diffuse min 1:
