Any BTHome example, working with the updated NimBLE library?

Hi guys :-)
I'm considering coding a few lines to get an ESP32 board up and running as a BTHome sensor for HomeAssistant.
n.b. I'm totally new to NimBLE-Arduino.

I understand the example code from https://github.com/Chreece/BTHomeV2-ESP32-example is no longer working due to recent changes in NimBLE.

Could someone point me to a currently working BTHome Arduino example from where I could start? I seem to find only broken (well .. actually it's only old, as not updated) code :-(

BTHome.cpp probably requires some changes. Could you post the problem? I'm assuming it doesn't compile anymore.

No, as expected (I tried anyway to see it myself) it doesn't :-(

BTHome.cpp:250:52: error: 'class NimBLEAddress' has no member named 'getNative'
BTHome.cpp:297:29: error: no matching function for call to 'NimBLEAdvertisementData::addData(std::string&)'
and so on.

getNative is clearly mentioned in the "Migration guide".

Yes, getNative is mentioned because it has been removed. The equivalent API is getValue now.

The function signatures have changed:

bool addData(const uint8_t* data, size_t length);
bool addData(const std::vector<uint8_t>& data);

Try this addData(reinterpret_cast<const uint8_t*>(yourStr.c_str()), yourStr.length());

@h2zero Migration guide appears to be missing details about addData.

Looking at the example it wouldn't take much to update it.
Good catch @thekurtovic, I was thinking of adding a template for this to make it easier.

I'm getting my former c++ knowhow back one step at a time .. meanwhile @Cuddon did just what I was asking: he updated the above mentioned example so that it works with NimBLE v.20: https://github.com/Cuddon/BTHomeV2-ESP32-example

This one works, apart from a minor typo: buildPaket() instead of buildPacket().
