Building and running Analogy Viewer

Hello!

I am trying to run Analogy viewer and running into a problem.

It throws and exception trying to load System.Resources.Extensions DLL:

'Could not load file or assembly 'System.Resources.Extensions, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=cc7b13ffcd2ddd51' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)'

I added the following to app.config

      <assemblyIdentity name="System.Resources.Extensions" publicKeyToken="cc7b13ffcd2ddd51" culture="neutral" />
      <bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0-9.0.3" newVersion="9.0.3" />
    </dependentAssembly>      
  </assemblyBinding>

However, it did not help. Instead it throws the same exception but this time looking for System.Resources.Extensions, Version=4.0.0.0.

Are there build instructions or a pre-built executable available for download?

I am using Visual Studio 2022 on Windows 11 64-bit.

areyou trying to build the net framework version? I did get this error. Until I resolve it you can use the NET versions

I just cloned the repo and tried to build Analogy.sln from Visual Studio 2022.

This is the TargetFrameworks setting for the main app:
<TargetFrameworks>net48;net8.0-windows;net9.0-windows</TargetFrameworks>
I did not change it.

there are compiled versions (NET8/9) in the release section https://github.com/Analogy-LogViewer/Analogy.LogViewer/releases/tag/v8.0.0

alternative, for now, you can run the net8/9 from visual studio instead of net 4.8

Thank you! I removed references to net48 and can now run it in the debugger. It is a great application!
